Put the discs back in the bag and use a straight pin mark where on the outside of the canvas you want them to go. Sew all the way around the unfinished edges, with a ¼ inch seam allowance, leaving a 3-4 inch gap open. This gap will allow you to turn the sack right side out. So turn the sack right side out. Great! Don’t close the gap yet.

How to finish a bag flap?

You can finish the flap by cutting a 2" wide piece of fabric the length of the flaps edge. #N#Prepare the same way you did the shoulder strap. Pin and sew to the inside of flap first. Then fold to outside, iron, and sew.#N#Your bag is almost complete!

How to make a bottle holder?

Fold over 1/4" of the 6" edge of the fabric, iron flat and sew. This will be the top of your bottle holder.#N#Fold in half, good side in, with 9" edges touching. Sew bottom of bottle holder closed with a 1/4" seam allowance. Then turn right-side out.#N#Iron and Sew the 12" edge (without the curve) of your 12" x 36" fabric.

Step 2

I taped some sheets of paper together, placed the largest disc from his collection on top of one end of the paper (leaving room for seam allowance). I traced the disc. I then used to ruler to extend the edges of the circle for ¾ inch seam allowance.

Step 4

I cut the top ¼ of the circle off and drew a straight line up the side, 9 inches long. I used the disc to create a rounded top. This is the back and flap of the sack. I traced the bottom part and add ½ inch length to the end where the straight edged top will be. This is the front of the sack.

Step 10

Using straight pins find the center of the bottom piece and the front piece. Ease the bottom piece around the front piece, using as many straight pins as possible. Great!

Step 12

Repeat adding the other side of the bottom to the back/ flap piece. Again use a 5/8 inch seam.

Step 13

After I removed all the pins, I tried all six discs in the sack. Nice fit, yeah this will work.

Step 16

Repeat the process in steps 10-15 with the canvas, only this time make a 3/8 inch seam. This half of the sack needs to be a bit bigger so that the fleece half will fit nicely into the canvas part.

Step 17

Now put the two halves together, with the right sides of each piece facing each other. You may use straight pins to attach the raw edges together. Now is a good pint to figure out where you want the magnetic clasps to go. Put the discs back in the bag

Step 1: Find a Suitable Backpack

I used the "Jar Top" backpack made by Embark. These are available at Target and on their website. I picked up mine on sale for $20. They also have an "elite" version for $10 more with thicker/padded fabric. I opted for cheap and light. If I need to fix some stitching or add some duct tape later it will just make me like the bag better.

Step 2: Build the Frame

I used 3/4 inch pvc that I had on hand. It should be fairly obvious from the picture what goes where. I cut the horizontal pieces 25 cm and the vertical pieces 18 cm. The shorter sections of pvc that I used across the top and to connect the feet were 10 cm. The origional design didn't have the feet at the bottom.

Step 3: Pack Your Bag!

The frame should fit snuggly to maximize the number of discs you can carry. If you build to my dimensions the top flap should just barely close without having to stress the seams or zipper.

What to do if you find gaps in your bag?

Look and feel are secondary, while the most important thing is you have to like the flight. If you find gaps in your bag, fill them in with some utility discs. Too many discs can be a bad thing though. If you have too many options, you can quickly distract from the shot in front of you. Keep your bag tight and simple.

What does low profile mean on a disc?

The term “low profile” means is that the disc isn’t very tall or deep in your hand. It’s easy to get your fingers under the rim. This is key for getting the disc to spin. In this slot, I’ve found recent success with the Soft Link. Unlike my putting putters, I like my throwers to be on the softer side.
