I bought a cheap liner (large foam mat) for the back of my suv and cut it to size. As I walk to the car I knock the loose grass or any mud off the tires. Then I fold it and stick it in the back. Every once in a while I'll take the liner out and brush off the debris. Takes about 10 seconds. Nothing a little brush or a bi-annual vacuum couldn't fix.
