yep. I found the bag I wanted minus one thing I desired. So I went to the fabric store and purchased hook and loop w/adhesive backing

I'm the opposite, I'm annoyed by bags that have the velcro patches for gloves. Especially those with an icon of a glove on the patch. I don't wear a glove and if I did I would just attach it around the towel loop or similar so it would be more secure.

What bags are you looking at. I don't think that Sun Mountain ever had Velcro, at least in the last few years. I have an Ogio and I think all of their bags have Velcro.

I added an adhesive-backed piece to my Titleist Staff Stand, right under the handle. I've used Ogio's for so long, and I missed the patch instantly.

Getting Started

Before we dive deep into organizing all of your golf bag essentials, there are a few preliminary tasks you have to take care of.

How to Organize Your Golf Clubs

One of the first steps to whipping your golf bag into shape is to organize your golf clubs. After all, holding your clubs is the primary purpose of having a golf bag. If you don't want to waste valuable time sifting through your clubs to find your putter or woods — keeping them in the right order is the best way to go.

How to Organize Your Apparel

Almost all golf carriers will come with at least one apparel pocket. While it may be tempting to shove other items into your apparel pocket, try to avoid doing so at all costs. If you put snacks or liquids in this pocket, you'll end up with an unforgivable mess.

How to Organize Your Golf Balls

Most bags offer a specific section to store your balls. That said, you don't want to overload the number of balls you take with you. Having too many isn't necessary and will make it more difficult to organize the rest of your bag.

How to Organize Your Golf Accessories

Organizing your accessories is crucial if you want to have a clear mind while on the green. However, your strategy is limited to how many pockets your stand bag offers. Fortunately, most medium and large golf bags provide plenty of pockets to hold a reasonable amount of accessories.

How to Organize Your Valuables

If you have a newer stand bag, chances are there's a dedicated area to store your valuables. What's more, golf bag manufacturers tend to make these compartments out of durable ermine and velour. Also, they tend to make the valuables pocket waterproof to keep your phone and wallet nice and dry as you play.

How to Organize Your Consumables

Golf can be quite physically demanding, especially if you're walking the course. Naturally, you'll want to pack water and some snacks to keep your energy levels in check. As you can see from the information above, it's not wise to shove your snacks and liquids into any compartment that has additional space.

How to organize a golf bag?

Start organizing your bag by putting all your woods and your putter in the front compartment of this bag. If you have a hybrid club, this also would go in the front compartment.

What is the towel on a golf bag?

The towel on a golf bag can be one of the most important accessories you have. A common placement for the towel is clipped to the front of the bag so it hangs down when your bag is propped up on its stand. This allows for easy access when you need to clean your club after a shot. Also most golf towels come with a hole lined with metal ...

What wedges go in the final compartment?

In the final compartment will be your short wedges including the 8, 9, pitching wedge and sand wedge. If you carry a lob wedge this would also go in the compartment. The irons can also be laid out in a similar fashion as the long irons with the club that hits the furthest closest to your body.

Where to put your 3 irons in golf?

To take it a step further, you can put your 3 iron on the side of the bag nearest your body and then the remaining clubs in order to the outside.

Do you put golf balls in the smaller pocket?

In the smaller of the pockets, keep your tees. This pocket is also higher up the bag giving you easier access since theoretically you should be using more tees than golf balls. The golf balls will be put in the lower, larger bag since they take up more space. Sorry, the video player failed to load. (Error Code: 100013)

I have a button-snap swaged onto my towel and it snaps to the rain cover snaps on the bag. I've never been a fan of slit towels, or even loop towels, but I think I'm going to try one of them draped over my umbrella once I wear out the one I have snapped on is done. I'm just not sure how I'll like the rearward placement, especially when riding.

mguhler

I've had the same huge white bath/beach towel since 97 or 98; laid thru the top of my bag between the woods and the long irons. Every couple years I bring it home end of the year to be put thru the wash.
