Looks

They look modern, light and I grew to really appreciate the colour and style. I would describe my experience of these PUMA shoes as: very positive with my playing partner event commenting that they were “smart looking”.

Feel

They were very easy to clean. I liked the lightness of the weight of the shoe and this added to the comfort when playing. They also provide good stability during the swing.

Performance

Very comfortable. The three-dimensional traction and cushioning gave amazing comfort. I was genuinely surprised at how comfortable these shoes were straight out of the box. I have been used to having to break in shoes before use but these didn’t need any such fuss. They were like slippers immediately.

Pros

I give the thumbs up to PUMA for doing exactly what it says on the label. They have produced a smart looking, comfortable and waterproof shoe. I am really looking forward to getting around the course as the harder ground develops with the better weather in my well manufactured PUMA Ignite.

Cons

The modern training shoe design may not be to taste of everyone. I was very easily converted as they are so comfortable to wear. They may not have the classic old school styling I usually favour but that is actually a bonus given that they look modern and are extremely comfortable

The Bottom Line

Will I ever be as cool as Rickie Fowler? Never. However, it doesn’t matter so long as my feet are dry and I play golf in comfort in whatever weather that is thrown at me. These shoes deliver that in spades.

Puma IGNITE PWRADAPT Caged Golf Shoes

The Puma IGNITE PWRADAPT Caged golf shoe was designed with idea of achieving a perfect fit and the ultimate comfort experience. While the PWRADAPT Caged is made up of mostly soft materials, the support is solid and your foot feels perfectly “locked in” over 18 holes.

The Looks

If you have any familiarity with Puma Golf shoes from recent years (many of which can be found on this site), the PWRADAPT Caged is clearly an evolution from those models. There is a softer upper with some sort of support system going across the top of the foot.

Comfort Level

Puma explains the fit of the PWRADAPT Caged as “anatomically designed” for a “perfect, tailored fit.” Honestly, this is the right way to describe the fit of this shoe. As mentioned earlier, the PWRCAGE saddle gives you a supportive fit across your foot. Additionally, tightening the cage will also pull the “Heel Lock Window” to “cup” your heel.

On-Course Performance

PWRADAPT is another Puma concept that has been around for a few generations now. The idea is that the sole of the shoe will adapt to any lie for optimal traction . On a flat lie, the foundation is as stable as anything else you’re going to wear. Where PWRADAPT differentiates itself is on uneven lies.

Final Thoughts – Puma IGNITE PWRADAPT Caged Golf Shoes

The stability of the Puma IGNITE PWRADAPT Caged was far and away what impressed me the most. Out of all recent soft-shell Puma models, this is by far their most supportive yet. The PWRDADAPT Caged is comfortable, adaptable, and has strong traction. All of this making for a versatile golf shoe that performs well on the course.

Performance

  • I’ll admit I didn’t grasp the PWRADAPT Pods at first and thought they were just your typical cleats. Then I pushed on the teeth of one and watched the pod tilt and flex into the sole – that was my “ah-ha” moment. Each pod flexes independently so that the spikes can apply traction in the plane and axis where it’s needed. Couple that with the flex of the sole and you get what Puma calls “3-…
