Wind blowing behind your back or into your face at 15 mph will add or take about a yard or two from your shot, though. Thus, you really want to be wary of crosswinds.

A ball that lands in fast fairway will have much longer and more pronounced bounces, and a ball that rolls in fast fairway will roll forever. Backspin is uneffective--it's like putting the brakes on an F1 car. It may slow the ball down, but the ball is going to resist every step of the way. Anyway, fast fairway can add 50 yards or more to your drive, given your ball keeps on rolling in fast fairway. Super topspin has monstrous effects in fast fairway. Hitting from fast fairway is ever-so-slightly more variable than hitting from fairway, but you probably won't notice the difference unless you're using a 1-Wood.
What is shallow water golf?
On one course, shallow water is an actual terrain that you may hit from. Because your ball is in standing water, your power is stunted and your sweet spot is much smaller. (Have you tried swinging anything through water? It's near impossible to keep up the momentum of a golf swing!). Shallow water is actually rather similar to Heavy Rough in that your spin will still be there, but it won't do much of anything; shallow water tends to keep your ball in the shallow water once you hit it. Getting out of shallow water is just as difficult as getting out of heavy rough--maybe slightly easier. At least it's not as bad as the water!
How to hit on a different part of the ball?
To hit on a differnt part of the ball, you will need to hold the Circle Pad in a certain direction while the shot meter is being used. This can actually be a little difficult if you're used to paying attention to only the shot meter. However, the Circle Pad will hit on the ball in whatever direction you pull the Circle Pad. So just how does holding down on the Circle Pad affect the ball?
What happens if you hit water in golf?
Your ball will be dropped at the point of entry at a distance no closer to the hole than where the ball landed. The game will automatically assess this penalty and perform the drop. The game is usually nice enough to drop you in the best terrain available, though.
What happens when you hit a golf ball in heavy rough?
Heavy rough is even less forgiving than regular rough. When your ball lands in the heavy rough, it may bounce once or twice and roll a bit at the end. The ball may even use a bit of spin, if you used it. However, heavy rough just about kills your ball's momentum, and makes it hard to get out of the terrain even if you are close to the rough. Getting out of heavy rough is also extremely difficult and grueling. The sweet spot on your shot meter is much smaller and the shot meter itself will move much more quickly, meaning you will need to club down. A 1-Wood, 3-Wood, and 5-Wood will not go much farther than the other woods or hybrids, and using those clubs will hurt your sweet spot a lot. You will also have a very tough time getting the next shot in the air and putting any sort of spin and control on it. Basically, the heavy rough is where recovery is practically your only option unless the green is less than 100 yards away.
Seaside Course
The Seaside Course is a picturesque, postcard-worthy golf course that hugs the ocean and borders lush cliffs. The fairways are carefully manicured to invite disastrous consequences for poor shots, and the water can be forebodingly close to many greens and fairways. Fairway bunkers also pose issues.
Mountain Course
To be honest, I'm of the opinion that the Mountain Course is not all that much more difficult than the Seaside Course. Sure, it throws some new challenges at you (and some of the holes are actually very difficult), but most of the course is a comparative breeze! Oh well.
What is the easiest course in Mario Golf?
Peach Gardens is the easiest course in Mario Golf: World Tour. You can easily drive about half of the par 4's greens, and the par 5s are reachable in two. Greens are large and the fairways literally push your golf ball farther with heart-shaped boosters scattered throughout the fairways of certain holes. You shouldn't have a problems with this course. The only problem is that everything is pink (sorry to those of you who like pink). Anyway, the strategies for this course mostly revolve around trying to extort eagles and easy birdies from each hole rather than escaping with birdie like for other courses (ahem, Mountain Course ).
What is the Wiggler Park course?
Wiggler Park is a fun Mario course that basically shrinks you down so that you're about 1/10th of your character's usual size in the Mario-verse. The course's gimmick is that everything is bigger than you; each hole features a different Mario enemy (or frenemy) that is much bigger than you. These enemies serve as obstacles. The holes are pretty benign, though... I can't really think of a hole on Wiggler Park that makes me shudder. The course is readily amenable to many items, and it is rather easy to navigate even with the oversized foliage. All in all, Wiggler Park is a lot of fun with not much difficulty.

Moon Coin Challenges
After you collect a total of 90 Star Coins in the Challenges mode, each challenge will get an alternate version that puts you under harsher circumstances as you try and collect Moon Coins.
Unlockable Gear
Customizable Gear is unlocked when you complete different challenges, finish a round, or collect a certain amount of coins. This gear is sent to the boutique in the Castle Club where it can be purchased with coins.
Unlockable Costumes
Within the Customizable Gear are Costumes, full body outfits that improve your stats in more than one way. Each costume has to meet a certain criteria before being unlocked. There are 40 costumes to unlock in all.
