Evening all, got home from work today and shut down the car as per usual, foot brake, into 'P', and then pulled the handbrake button to put the handbrake on, then released the foot brake. Waited 30 seconds or so and turned off the ignition, got out of the car and all seemed fine.

Yeah I'm completely baffled, wondered if the coolant still circulated after it was switched off, then thought why would there be air in the cooling system. Really want to stay away from dealers until it's done a few more miles, but will give them a call if needs be.

All of mine have made all manner of noises after they stop. It sounds very strange indeed, particularly if you lift the bonnet, but I can't say I've ever questioned it because early on other people were commenting on it too. I just think my car likes a bit of a chat before I go

Stobsie

Same as fruit here, mine did it to start with and the coolant dropped to the minimum level @ 5400 miles been fine since and my dealer told me the same.

It could be the anti-evaporation fuel tank system working. I think the fuel tank is in two sections, either side of the propshalf like my old BMW 320i.
