That's really good advice above. Practice round days are really enjoyable. When it's a major, I prefer to actually watch the tournament on TV for the weekend rounds. Definitely Sunday.

If you can only go one day, than I would definitely go to a practice round. That way your almost guaranteed to see your favourite players, have a little smaller crowds & enjoy the day a little more without having to scramble to find a good viewing spot.

For a major other than Masters, I'd say practice round or Thursday. I hate crowds. They are usually full of stoopid people with no manners.

I got tix for the US Open w/ a lot of buddies who all agree on Tues and Thurs. Tues seemed liked the best practice round as Monday can be hit or miss for your favorite player. Weds' is almost always the pro-am day if there is one for that particular tourny.

My vote is for the practice rounds. Went to Pinehurst last year and had a really good time. Easier to get around tee boxes to get better views, players spend more time on the range than just doing warm-ups, and cameras are allowed.
