When i play junk bets like that we only count it if its a greenside bunker and for par or a hole out obviously. You can still make birdie from a greenside bunker therefore we dont count that. We count the sandy on the greenside bunkers because you have to get up and down with a one putt. Bogeys dont count.

The only way I have ever played Sandy's is if you find a trap and somehow par, You get a Sandy!!!

The PGA Tour figures Sand Save percentage based on getting up and down from the sand. Whether that is for eagle or triple bogey, it is still a sand save. I believe only greenside bunkers are considered. Because of this, whenever we play junk bets a "Sandy" is up and down from a bunker.
