I am officially done playing in captains choice tournaments! I like playing in them because they are fun with the right group of guys. I played in one in Myrtle Beach this past weekend. The conditions were TERRIBLE!!! It poured most of the round. The front nine we played 7 holes in rain so hard it was impossible to keep your hands and grips dry.

I'm sure it does happen, but don't automatically assume anybody that shoots that good is cheating. I help run a charity tournament here, and 2 years ago a team of all 18 handicappers shoots like 62 or something. They chipped in 4 times, and made 3 putts over 25 feet.

I guess I will ask this........any of you guys have any ideas on how to reduce the amount of cheating in these events??? Maybe there should be groups of 8 and you keep the other teams scores.

Been there, done that. The friggin' round lasts FOREVER!!! The best solution I've come up with, but I've never seen it used, is if the tournament is large enough, and you have enough volunteers, just have a 'marshal' with each 2 groups, that can watch. You know, sit on the tee and watch the other group putt out, etc.

There is truth to people having that "GREAT ROUND" and under certain conditions I am good with that. Trust me when I say the weather on Saturday in Myrtle Beach really S*&%ed. If there is anyone on here from Myrtle Beach they will attest to the fact that the rain was hard and steady all day.

Ive been on teams that shoot 20+ under... i dont see why 14 in those conditions are that out of reach... I know it does happen but you know what assuming does.

Not sure if I would go accusing others. I played in a scramble once and we shot something like 23 under. Granted all four of us were either scratch - +5. It was funny because when i walked into the restroom, a bunch of guys were accusing us of cheating. They had no idea i was part of that winning team. Anyhow, i just smirked and walked out.
