I do, fairly frequently I have been shooting 38-40 on the front nine and 45-47 on the back nine. Really feels like I'm sabotaging myself. I know I have the ability to play in the high 70s but just can't do it. Low to mid 80s is where I'm stuck. Even on a course I never played before, I recently shot 38-46.

I'm the opposite, if I dont warm up correctly and feeling uncomfortable...my front nine is ok and takes time for me to adjust. As soon as I warm up, I always shoot low on my back nine.

Energy level is one of the issues. I also think sometimes when you shoot a good score on the front you then try to protect it on the back side. You start playing not to make mistakes rather than just playing.

Has anyone had (or still has) this problem before? That is, front 9 scores that are much better than the back 9? Yesterday I played 72 holes and shot 11 over in the front and 20 over in the back - short game didn't change the difference came mostly from the long game.
