Wow, that is one of the more ridiculous "quick fixes" I've ever heard of. I don't understand where people get these ideas. Why would you put a layer of petrollium over a metal face designed to aid in ball speed. Suggest to this guy that he practice and take lessons instead of ruining clubs and club property.

I would think you would save a lot more strokes not counting penalty strokes then worrying about Vaseline on a driver. Vaseline reduces spin, there obviously isn't a set number of how much or how little it reduces a slice/hook, it's going to vary depending on all factors. Again, I'm not sure why you are worried about this, if you are looking to "pickup" strokes on him, just tell him to simply count his penalty strokes, they will add up MUCH faster then a drive going 5 more yards offline. Again don't mean to hammer the point but, if it takes you having a VERY bad day and him cheating so much to beat you by 1 stroke then why do you care so much?.
