Anyway, I use my G15 irons and wedges with a full swing from 75+ yards on out and am learning to use PM's short game (hinge and hold) techniques near the green. In days gone by - I would use the 6 to 8 iron for shots between the 20 to 60 yard range.

Where is the pin thats why I like TW around the greens he never uses the same shot. How much green do have to work with how fast are the greens how much carry do u need how much underulation? all kinds of questions shot be flaoting through u r head. I am a huge fan of playing different courses with different size greens to become a better player.

Ditto, 60 degrees wedge. I like to keep my left wrist cupped for the high pitch shot Bent left wrist for the lower spinner pitch shots. This for typically about 40-80 yard range For greenside chipping well that's whole different technique

dpark

For me, there isn't just one club. I will use either a GW, SW or LW depending on the lie, the trouble between me and the pin and where the pin is on the green. If I am playing a links course, I may even use a putter or a 7 or 8 iron as well.

I am just getting back into golf after being away after 10+ years... (my last set of drivers are all smaller than the modern 7 woods)

Thanks for the replys - those of you using a wedge - are you using a low bounce wedge? The bounce on my wedges are as follows: PW - 10 UW - 11 SW - 12 LW - 12 I was wondering if a low bounce wedge was important...

mshills

Not enough information to tell, since the yardage is only part of the puzzle. I try not to ever leave myself 30 to 50 yards, but if I somehow do, I will hit anything from a putter, 58 deg, 53 deg, PW, 9i, 8i, or 7i depending on the terrain, conditions, pin position, how I feel that day... Lots of factors.
