I recently replaced my 15˚ 3-wood (Titleist 906F2) with a 15˚ hybrid (Ping G10) because I was fed up with inconsistancy with the 3-wood and felt much more comfortable with the more iron-like setup of a hybrid. Yeah, I might have lost 5-10 yards in distance compared to my 3-wood, but I'm so much more accurate with it.

Hybrids are generally not designed to go as far as a 3-wood. That's why they call them "hybrids", they fill the gap between your long irons and fairway woods. If you're not hitting the 3 wood well, I'd either get rid of it and find the longest hybrid you can (and accept that it won't be as long as your 3 wood) or find a 3-wood you can hit.

I replaced my 15 degree 3 wood with a Taylor Made 2 Rescue TP. I live in HI and the tradewinds just made the 3 wood useless into the wind. I hit the Rescue 2 more consistently, and farther. Only time I miss the 3 wood is when I want to hit a high fade into a green.. cant hit a high fade with a rescue 2... at least i cant.
