I have two towels available this time of year. One damp for cleaning clubs and grips, the other one just dry for wiping off hands and face from sweat.

That might actually work. I play the GP microsuede grips and LOVE them? I also live here in AZ where sweat can wreak havock on both grips and keeping the club in your hands. The mocrosuedes are just the tour wraps buffed down with a light grit sanding belt. They're pretty inexpensive at $5 ea. So far after 3 mo, there's no noticeable wear.

You should do this only for cord grips, as the sand paper will help rough up the cord and improve your traction. Anything else, just wipe the grip down with a towel soaked with rubbing alcohol and let air dry (takes 30 seconds-ish).

This works for grips like Lamkin Crosslines, REL 3GEN, Golf Pride Tour velvet, GP DD2, GP NDMC but will not work for most Winn Grips. First hit them with soap and water, then with wipe them off, then a fine grit sand paper, then wipe again. Many tour caddies keep sandpaper in the bag for just such an occasion.

I have done this many times works great i used 400 grit wet sandpaper with a little water and makes em feel like new.

Trying to understand the connection a little better. As long as we're splitting hairs, I don't think that the epoxy sticks to raw steel better than it does to chrome. Its that the chrome isn't integrally part of the steel shaft, its just cosmetically applied. Therefore the epoxy, while sticking to the chrome just fine, can rip the chrome right off the steel under torsion, impact, etc. I could be totally wrong about this.

It is just faster and that is the only advantage. The person who said that a coarser surface gives you a better bond, just doesn't understand how epoxy works. You are far better off to use a finer grit sandpaper.
