What is a mid river?
Mid-Rivers offers low-income phone and Internet assistance to qualifying subscribers. Lifeline provides Federal Universal Service support to reduce monthly charges for telephone and/or qualifying Internet service paid by eligible low-income residential customers. These assistance services are non-transferable and allow for only one discount to be applied to a qualifying household. Eligibility standards for Lifeline assistance are determined by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Customers must qualify through National Verifier to become eligible to receive the Lifeline discounts. Customers can qualify by applying at home through your own portal, or by mailing in this application to USAC. All lifeline customers must re-certify every year before the anniversary date of their enrollment. Customers will be contacted prior to their recertification date with a reminder.

What is a mid-rivers battery?
Mid-Rivers’ backup batteries allow you to continue to use your home voice services on a corded landline phone during a power outage.
Do you need the address of Mid Rivers?
Please let Mid-Rivers know immediately if you move phones around, change offices, take a phone home, etc. We need the current street address and physical location (with floor, room number, etc. if applicable) of each line in our systems to be able to send the right details to emergency services.
Does Mid Rivers have backup power?
To avoid a disruption of home voice service during an outage – and to maintain the ability to connect to 911 emergency services – Mid-Rivers as your local Cooperative has installed and will maintain backup power for your home phone at no additional charge. Backup batteries have been installed by Mid-Rivers as part of our standard voice service installation. The purpose of this notice is to share information with you about those batteries; you do not need to take any action unless you are interested in purchasing additional battery capacity.
