What is the purpose of an iron in golf?

Most irons have solid heads, although some are hollow. Irons have angled faces (called "loft") etched with grooves that help grip the golf ball and impart spin. They are generally used on shots from the fairway, or for tee shots on short holes.

What is putter used for?

Putters are used for, well, putting . They are the clubs golfers use on the putting greens, for the last strokes played on a golf hole - for knocking the ball into the hole. Im looking at an 07' model of a burner driver and underneath the burner logo on the soul of driver it says"HT" in yellow letters it is a 10.5 (deg) club and not an HL. I cant find any information on this club. There is a whole seiries of fairways and hybrids with this marking in standard lofts as well.

Todd York

I think it's a little older model than the 2007. In 2005, Taylor Made had an r7 10.5* driver with the Movable Weight Technology which was called the r7 Quad HT (for High Trajectory). In 2007, Taylor Made introduced the Burner HL (High Launch) which didn't have the loft on it but was 13*.

This might be a club that was made for a place like Dick's or another sporting goods store. Kinda like the R7 Draw Irons or Burner Draw Driver?? To be honest this is an odd marking for a TM club...you said TM sent this directly to you with 10 other clubs. What else did they send?

jmittens24

Rebadged '07 Burners made for Dick's and golf galaxy, nothing more, nothing less. There's also fairway woods and hybrids, as well as a new set of burner ht irons with combo sets available. The line was a huge success at Dick's initially, so it makes sense for both companies to keep it going.

Chappie

Just for curiosity sake, do these have the same shafts as the 07 burners?

Where is the serial number on a Mizuno iron?

Mizuno iron sets will have the serial number on the hosel of every iron . Mizuno clubs normally have the serial number lasered on, but it will be in small writing. Fake clubs will look like it is lasered on, but the writing will be much larger and a lot of times will only be on one club. This would be the same for Mizuno drivers and fairway woods. For iron international iron sets (Europe/Asia) the serial number is on the shaft underneath the grip.w

Does Callaway have serial numbers?

Callaway clubs normally have the serial numbers laser etched on and it is on one club for iron sets. There will also be a tiny 2D barcode next to the serial number. This holds true for Driver, Fairway woods, and odyssey putters as well. Although recently it seems that Callaway has stopped putting serial numbers on their fairway woods and hybrids, so if you have a recent model it may no longer have a serial.

Golf Club Loft

Most golf clubs will have the loft angle written on them. If not you might like to consult this table;

Golf Club Lie Angle

Lie angle is defined as the angle between the shaft and the ground when the club is at address with the ball. The correct lie angle depends on your physique (particularly your height and the length of your arms.) Accordingly it is important to have your clubs fitted so that they have the correct lie angle.
