If you're referring to the Original One IMO that would be a little daunting to hit off the deck if you ever needed it. You mention you played the mini-tours so you might have the game for it but to me it would seem like mini-driver off the deck. For me I have a tour issue 2016 M1 3W that is near perfect off the tee.

Wishon 950HC 3w is a deeper face design. I have one in my bag and it is the best 3w that I have hit in the last 20 years. Unfortunately this model has been discontinued, but Wishon clubfitters might still have some inventory.

Take a look in the Tour Edge Exotics from 2014 to 2017. I believe the Ex9 Adjustable and EX10 Beta were deeper faced FWs. Call TE to make sure. I hit all their FW models for about three years, but ended up keeping their XRails in play. Two or three from that era were deep-faced.

I don't think it is terribly likely. I see the deep faced 3w having a similar trajectory as the "Tour" versions of drivers that are meant to be smaller headed and lower spinning. What we've learned and the industry seems to be pushing towards is consistency and stability both in terms of spin and curvature and how that relates to MOI and CG.

Yes it is the height of the face. Generally deep face launches lower and spins less and shallow face will have high launch and spin. 3 woods that are deeper faced are harder to hit off the deck but can add some distance and forgiveness off the tee due to less spin and higher COR (trampoline effect).

In the market for a 3-4 wood that will primarily be used off the tee (hit hybrid off the turf mostly) that will take the place of driver on tighter holes. I know most people like the shallow face fairway woods as they use them off the tee and from the deck but I'm looking for the opposite.

x2 hot 3 deep, I carry one for tee shots that require a low shot or a fade, tough off the deck unless you have a perfect lie

The new model Mizuno looks like the deepest faced 3 wood this year from pics I have seen but I haven't seen it in person. Someone else who has might be able to say for sure. Maybe if their website wasn't built by a 2 year old they could show their product better.

Echo what the others said...I can't stand shallow face fairways, the shallow design makes me more likely to miss low on the face as I can't just hit down and through as easily...all in my head I know!
