Senior golfer at 50, get real. At 65 I was working in heavy engineering and none of the younger set could keep up with me. Age ( being classified senior ) is only a number, I have met many in their 40s that would be considered senior just for their attitude to life. Me I am 77 and can still run rings round the snowflakes.

I think for golf purposes, the 50-55 mark is about right BUT - and this is the gods honest truth, at my old club, there was a senior vs. junior tournament pitting the youngest 16 who signed up against the eldest 16 who signed up - the age cut off to be a jr was 69 - needless to say we had a mature membership

60 and over gets the senior rate @ my golf course. On a side note......I have senior ladies that i know are on their late 60's who when I ask politely when checking in if they are seniors i get stare that would cut thru steel :rolleyes:

Seems to me we have two possible questions here: what is the legal age to be considered a senior -- and the answer is all over the barn because differrent courses, organizations, etc. define it differently. There's obviously no one age that answers this question. The answer is: whatever.

Most clubs here on Long Island, NY consider 62 to be Senior. Senior rates apply Monday-Thursday. Also a reduced Twi-Light rate for Seniors. No Senior rate for Friday, Saturday, Sunday from April - September, except Twi-Light. Twi-Light hours are adjusted by the time of year. 1:00 Fall/Winter, 3:00 Spring/Summer.
