The following is a description of all the possible statuses:
- Active - The player is active in the tournament.

- WD - Withdrawn: Many times a player will have to voluntarily withdraw from a round. ...

I've never used that, but a couple days ago I ran out of solvent and Google'd substitutes as I couldn't get to galaxy anytime soon. One of the suggestion was wd40. I ended up with odorless mineral spirits that I picked up from Wal-Mart. Never thought about wd40 but if it works then why not!?

I disagree with the lubricant argument. We would use wd40 to put out bmx grips on bare chrome steel handlebars. We did this because it would glue the rubber grip to the bar. Never any slip and stuck tight in minuets. So much better than hairspray that took forever to dry.

I've always used WD40. A lot of the old timers used lighter fluid, before Bic lighters became popular.

Using WD-40 on grips reminds me of guys using shafting beads all the time. Guys training for a darwin award were granted a pardon.

Fascinating... WD40 publishes a list of over 2000 uses of WD40, including 28 that are golf-related. Including removing dead insects from golf carts, or spraying on golf glove to keep it from drying out. But none of the 28 are related to installing grips. Kinda funny.

I use painters tape and just a tiny spray of wd40 with my golf pride tour wraps and never have an issue...

WD-40 is a crappy lubricant and a Jack of all trades master of none. I wouldn't use it for anything.

Cleaning Your Golf Clubs with WD-40
Other Uses For WD-40
- Cleaning the head of your golf club isn’t the only way that you can put WD-40 to use. You can also use it on your zippers. These can easily rust over, making them difficult to open. A quick spray with WD-40 will be able to fix this problem. You’ll also be able to spray WD-40 onto the shaft. This will help protect it from rust. Again, you will only need to use a light spray to see these effects.
Other Ways of Cleaning Your Golf Clubs
- While WD-40 is one of the most effective ways of keeping your golf club clean, it isn’t the only method that you can use. There are a few other unconventional options that you might want to explore.
Final Thoughts
- Every golfer wants to make sure that they are keeping their clubs in good condition. Not only does it improve your swing, but it also makes you look professional on the course. WD-40 is an invaluable tool, which helps you do this. All you need to do is lightly spray the head and the shaft and you will be able to start removing dirt and rust.
