I was struggling with my Odyssey DART (face balanced) and went for shopping. Then in the store, I found out myself in a similar situation than the OP. So I stopped trying the FB putters and tested a Nike MM006 and it couldn't be better.

I can use either for lag putting and get it close but inside of 5 feet, I need to have a face balanced blade. I don't know why, I've never done a fitting but I just can't stay consistent on the short ones with anything else.
