Who built Champions Golf Course?
A year after his 1956 Masters victory in Augusta, Georgia, Burke opened Champions with Demaret, himself a three-time Masters champion (1940, 1947, 1950), in their hometown of Houston, Texas. They enlisted fellow Houstonian Ralph Plummer to be the architect of the esteemed Cypress Creek course, which opened in 1959.
