History
Originally, professional golf only consisted of two British majors (The Open Championship and the Amateur Championship) and two U.S. Majors (The U.S. Open and the U.S. Amateur). Shortly after these initial tournaments gained success, the Masters and the PGA Championship stepped in to create today’s coveted list of four.
When will the PGA Championship be held?
In August 2017, after the previous year's edition was scheduled earlier due to golf at the 2016 Summer Olympics, the PGA of America announced that the PGA Championship would be moved to late-May beginning in 2019, in between the Masters and U.S. Open.
