I did take a look and never found the detail - I have seen a couple of conflicting reports on the brakes fitted to the MK7 Golf R. I understand they may use the same set up as the MK6 R/Leon Cupra/S3/MK5 R32 but with bigger discs.

IIRC - VW have left the rear brakes the same size as the 6R but the front disc's are slightly smaller and thinner (some of the weight reduction achieved I guess), though they have also slightly increased the front caliper piston size.
