Just wondering..........do you find that you have to generally go down one size from normal when you buy golf shirts? I almost always wear a large in most shirts which would include Ralph Lauren Polo shirts but it seems when I purchase dedicated golf shirts that a medium is the way to go.

Yeah it depends on the brand for me, but they always tend to run a size large unless it's some kind of slim fit cut. When I first started playing golf years ago, I found that Ashworth shirts (which were real popular back then) were like 2 sizes bigger than normal.

It depends on brand as well as style within brand. I typically wear medium, but FJ small fits large on me. If it is a standard Nike Dry Fit, I can wear small, other Nike styles require medium. UA offers various fits (Loose, Regular, Fitted and Compression), so I try a variety to get the fit I want. Sizing in clothing and shoes isn't consistent.

I like a golf shirt to fit loose with a little stretch. I've never t like to wear anything that is fitted, just doesn't feel right. I do like the new Under Armor style shirts, they are a little fitted so I go with a XXL, do to the fit in the shoulders.

Another vote for depends on the brand. I mostly wear Nike now because I was having sizing issues with other brands. I wear medium in Nike, so I ordered a couple Oakley shirts in medium via the net and they all looked like they I bought them at baby gap. I just gave them to my brother in law and will stick to Nike in the future.
