I'm currently running Michelin Pilot Super Sports and so far so good. I've been very happy with the grip and noise. I had the Pilot Sport 3s on before that and honestly it was a relief to get them off in the end. They deteriated quickly after a certain point.

I'm sure i'll be shot down for my opinion *ducks* as I don't have an R yet, but as someone who's suffered Bridgestones on 2 Golfs (including my current MK7 GTD, which has the same stock amount of torque as an R), most premium tyres are better than Bridgestones. My car tramps very easily and i've had the back end slide a little.

I don't rate the Bridgestone's at all, I could even tell on my mum's new GTD that arrived last week that they were letting the ride down.

Only fair way of sorting this out would be to stick on the top 10 premium brand tyres on the car and do a few laps of a race track (either Silverstone, Monza, Suzuka, Nurburgring or Laguna Seca).
