my last golf (gtd) upgraded all speakers with £90 pair pioneer components and sound deadening - much better sound.. In my R all ive done is added sound deadening on door inside panels and around speakers. pretty much similar effect, clearer fuller bass / mid bass and imo better quality sound..

Remember that all speaker systems need time to bed in, the sound quality improves markedly after 50-100 hours use - the same for all systems except studio systems that are burnt in by the manufactures and then you are talking 10s of £ks.
