I had mine out about six years or so ago....one giant stone, and man did that hurt like heck, so I can appreciate what you're going/have gone through.

Feedback

Had mine out in 05. I put it off and put it off for years. It was a piece of cake. I was out and about the next day. If it's done lapriscopically it's not a big deal. I was hitting balls (gently) within two weeks and I was playing shortly thereafter.

Easy Surg nowadays, 4 weeks and I was back to full tilt for me. The back surgeries and appendix were a diff story

On the June 18 I had my appendix removed laparoscopically. The surgery had no complications and my one week follow up with the surgeon was unremarkable. He suggested that I could return to playing golf two weeks from our appointment date, which would be a couple days past the three week post surgery mark.

Im an MD and given the small incisions surgeons use during that operation, and that the port sites are secured with sutures , it is very inlikely you woulg get a hernia. Not the case for old school “ open appendectomy” where a larger inscision is used. Your hernia risk is probably extremely minimal if at all..... swing away.

Feedback

Can't help on an appendix, but I had my gall bladder removed about 10 years ago laparoscopically. Amazing turn around compared to the old days. I was walking my dogs within a week, and swinging a golf club 3 weeks later, and playing in about a month.

Feedback

Depends on your current core strength, age and what you do for recovery. My navel incision took longer to feel “normal” but I was back to pre surgery strength in 3 months for most athletic stuff.

Feedback

I would ease into it. Don't go play the first day. Go chip and putt. See how you feel. Hit some wedges. Laparoscopic surgery is still surgery. Hernia risk is low you should be fine but I wouldn't rush it if it doesn't feel right

Feedback

I've had my gallbladder and appendix removed laparoscopically. Both times I was back on the course in three weeks. When I had my appendix removed I had it done in the morning, mowed the grass in the afternoon and then went out to dinner in the evening. The next few days wasn't so good though.

Been there with a "bonus" minor hernia repair at the same time, didn't push it one bit (as opposed to what I did following knee surgery). Err on the side of a little more time, ease into it and what have you lost - two or three rounds? No big deal in the grand scheme of things.

I have not had GB surgery, but had my appendix removed several years ago, I was not allowed to swing a club for 8 weeks.
