I broke a rib once several years ago playing golf was simply not an option. The only thing that works, is let it heal. The more you try to force it the longer it's gonna take to fully heal. When i had it happen i tried to play so early and it hurt forever. I know it sucks, but thats the price us golfers pay when we try to be skateboarders.

Not a fractured rib, but a small tear in the intercostal muscle. Once it started feeling better, I went to the range to hit balls and re aggrivated it. I'm no Dr., but I suggest waiting a few weeks after the pain is gone before easing back into swinging a golf club.

I got hit by a car once when I was in high school and broke my hip and 3 ribs. Concussion too. Played a concert the next night (drumset) and played in regional golf match 3 days after that. I really, really miss being young.

I stress fractured 2 ribs on right side about 5 years ago. Took 6 months of no golf to get semi right. Best advice I have is to bite the bullet and don't swing for as long as doc says.
