There's a good You Yube film called the Art of Forging on this.#N#We don't own the factory but its a joint development and our R&D guys work out of the factory a lot. In true Japanese traditions these manufacturing relationships run very deep. We don't chop and change. There's no one else can forge irons this way.#N#Once forged some of the finishing is done in China. Standards in China are very very good - depending on the factory. No Japanese club manufacturer forges there own...all the decent forging houses are ex Samurai sword makers, centuries of metalurgical practice, it's in their blood. Another reason why Japenese club makers do not forge their own is cost, the cost of running the blast furnaces to make the units club makers want it would not be viable, your price per set would double. Cost of materials has risen significantly in the last 10 years and so has your set of clubs.#N#Do not underestimate the castings from China, the reputable Chineese steel mills are just as knowledgable about metallurgical processes, again it's their blood. I work in the mining and metals industry and know the metallurgical standards of steel mills in Japan and China.
