I made the switch to vice two years ago and have shot some of the best rounds of my life playing the vice pro plus. I have noticed no distance difference between the vice and the taylormade tour preferred x that I played prior to.

mesaman777

Tried them both. I'm a Snell fan, so my opinion may be slightly biased. I feel the black spins less off the tee than the pro, and certainly more into the greens. That's not surprising, because snells entire philosophy on ball design starts from the green back.

GB13

I feel both balls perform similarly, but the MTB Black is more durable.

PlaidJacket

IMO and depending on your skill level it's not going to matter much if any what ball you play as long as....* Look I'm not an expert golfer by any means but I carry a fairly low single digit hcp. So I'm an OK golfer I suppose and I've been playing for 50 years there about.

CarlH

What he said ^^^^^^^^^ . They're all good. At our level of play, it boils down to personal preference. I don't think I'm capable of discerning any significant difference between the higher end golf balls (and that includes Vice and Snell).

B81Smith

My main issue with balls is I can’t loose them fast enough. I always look and usually find mine plus one or two other ‘pro level balls’ - that’s what I call a ball good enough to be played on the tours. I keep those and toss the crap back.#N#Doing this has caused me to use about 1 or 2 new sleeves of balls per year.

TR1PTIK

I made the switch to vice two years ago and have shot some of the best rounds of my life playing the vice pro plus. I have noticed no distance difference between the vice and the taylormade tour preferred x that I played prior to.

Hairpie

I'm really liking the Elixir these days. But in my search for a premium ball at a better price I've yet to try any of the Vice or Snell offerings. Since I really like the Elixir I'm looking for feedback from members who have played both the Elixir and comparable offerings from Vice and Snell.

Celebros

I played Vice all of last year and Snell all of this year. Similar performance, but much better cover durability with Snell.

bluedot

Ok, but there is a LOT of independent testing available that says otherwise. The Snell balls and the Vice balls did NOT perform the same in testing; Snell is clearly superior, and on a par with ProV1 and TPX balls. That's not my opinion; that's independent testing data.

Myherobobhope

Honestly, I think the main advantage snell has is knowing which factories to use and access to them... he was in the industry long enough to have built relationships, and enough technical knowledge to know what he’s asking for.

trackcoach13

I hope your accuracy is better on the course then this post. Snell's golf balls are made by Nassau in S. Korea and not by Foremost who is in Taiwan. Also, Dean does in fact design his own products and they make them to his specs. I am also pretty sure he had a working relationship with them during his time with TM.

sTmGolfer

I've tried the Snells, Vice Pro's, and currently gave the OnCore Elixr's. I was never a fan of the Vice balls. They distance always felt short to me comparatively (no hard data to back it up for me ... just what I felt when I played it). The Snell balls are amazing ... both the X and Black are terrific golf balls and tough to beat.

braincramp52

So Snell has all those ball patents just from buying balls from Foremost? Interesting.
