The balancer marks both point to the 1 oclock position with black links on each and the 3rd black link will be facing a mark to the 7 oclock position on the crankahaft gear. The timing could be 180 degrees out you will have to do it all over again. Bring #1 cylinder upto TDC check the distributor rotor arm that it is pointing to #1 plug wire, It is important that the cams are on the intake stroke and not on the exhaust stroke. The crank is no big deal just make sure the marks are lined up.
