What is a flying golf?
FlingGolf is a sport that is easy to start and fun to master. You play on any golf course, but instead of hitting a golf ball with a club, you use a single New Swarm FlingStick thrower to hurl the ball and shape every shot from tee to hole. You can even play in the same foursome as traditional golfers. Just no argyle sweaters. You’re better than that.
How to putt a ball on the green?
When on the green, position the ball alongside the striker pad on the FlingStick head and putt the ball toward the hole.
What grip do you use for a flop shot?
For full distance FlingShots we recommend a baseball grip, with no interlocking of fingers. For flop shots, we recommend a grip with hands apart for more control. For putting, we recommend hands apart with hands positioned as on a hockey stick. For more info on swing techniques, go here.
How far can you go with a flying stick?
Far, really far, or really really far. Over 100 yards within 5 minutes of using your FlingStick, but with some practice, strength, and skill, over 200 yards is certainly on the table. Hard-core athletes have been known to bomb it 250+ yards.
Do you need a golf ball?
No. A standard golf ball is all you need. Don’t bother with expensive brands either; any ball will do. Unless you’re rich and like throwing $5 bills into a pond.
Is flying golf better than traditional golf?
The fewer the FlingShots, the better the score. Sound familiar? The scoring in Fling Golf is very similar to traditional golf, but the rules are much simpler. Is it easier to keep your flyingshots straight?
Very. Compared to an average golfshot, you will generally find it much easier to keep your FlingShots straight and on the fairway. But if you really enjoy being in the deep woods maybe this isn't the game for you.
How to putt on the green?
On the Green. With the Striker Pad, putt as you would a golf putt. With the FlingNotch, push or pull the ball toward the hole without moving your feet. With the ball in the Channel, release the ball from a point no closer to the hole than the previous lie.
What happens if you lose a golf ball in a sand bunker?
Take a 1-stroke penalty if your ball lands in a sand bunker or water hazard, if it’s out-of-bounds, or if you lose it.
When did Alex start developing the FlingGolf stick?
Alex started developing the prototype for the product in 2012. He said that even after inventing his innovative new FlingGolf stick, he was unsure if anyone would want to play the game or if the unorthodox clubs would be allowed in traditional Golfing clubs.

How much are flying sticks?
The FlingGolf sticks differ in size and style and come in a variety of patterns. They start from a kid’s size (The Junior), which costs $89, and move up to bigger sizes called The Launch, which starts at $119; The Stinger, which starts at $149 and the topmost model, Ballistick, which costs $179. The regular versions of the sticks additionally come in different sizes to suit the needs of every customer. While the game of FlingGolf can be played on several select courses as of now, the sticks are exclusively available on FlingGolf’s website, and there is even an option for wholesalers to buy in bulk.
Can you play flying golf on a golf course?
After numerous prototypes, Alex was ultimately satisfied with his final product and decided to market it. The product is made in such a way that FlingGolf can be played on any standard Golf course. The stick needed to play the sport looks very much like a Golf club, but on closer inspection, one can see that the clubhead has been replaced by a basket that very much resembles the end of a lacrosse stick. Who invented Fling golf?
Alex Van Alen and his brothers were interested in creating new sports from the old ones. Interestingly, football on skates, ultimate frisbee while riding dirt bikes, etc. were some of the sports they created throughout the period. It took about 18 months to develop the alternative for golf and its apparel for Van Alen.
