I've worn progressive bi-focals glasses for about 3 years now and don't have any problem with them. The only time I experience a problem is when I try to wear my contacts (they are mono-vision) one lens for distance and one for upclose. The Dr.

I went to progressive lenses (graduated bifocals) about 3 years ago when I was 45. At first, the Dr. cautioned me that they might be tough to wear playing golf. He encouraged me to keep my old pair for awhile. So for about a year I would put on my old glasses just to play golf.

I've used bifocals on and off (mostly off) for the past 20 years, and I've not had distance corrective lense at all. A month or so ago, I was examined, fitted and am now wearing no-line transition lenses full time.

I started wearing progressive bifocals about 6 years ago and for the life of me could not take them on the course for a long time.

I wear progressive bifocals, but my "golf" glasses have no bifocal. I do have a friend who is an optometrist, he had a patient request the bifocal put in the very top of the lens for golf so he could read the score card. Not a bad idea.

I have been using "golf-custom" bi-focals for about fifteen years and if you have to wear glasses (as opposed to lasix), they are definitely the way to go. Just tell the optometrist to put the bi-focal in the top quarter inch or so of the lens, then just tilt your head down to read the score care.
