Flight

In testing using Trackman at SGGT studios the ERC Soft launched fractionally higher with less spin using a 7-iron.

With the lower spin from the ERC Soft I was gaining a yard or two over the Chrome Soft from this higher launch. This may be swing speed dependent, as sometimes softer balls perform better at mid to low swing speeds and mine is more mid to high.

Hi @jmo15, I too discovered that I like softer feeling golf balls and I do like the Chrome Soft especially with the TT. To be honest though there is a minefield of golf balls, I personally play the B-XS and boy it is a true all around great golf ball. good in the wind, good spin and distance is up there.

Probably have to do some testing but Vice Pro Soft, OnCore Elixr, OnCore VeroX1, Srixon Z-Star, Titleist Tour Speed are all on the softer side. Just have to see what's similar to the Chrome Soft for you.

Some of those will be a bit firmer than the Chrome Soft but definitely on the softer side of the spectrum. Seems like you can always find good prices on prior generation Z-Star if that's a ball that works for you.

Based on that other website's testing it's no more than 5 or 6 and if you can feel a difference of 5 or 6 compression on a golf ball and you're not a tour pro then join the X-Men. They're close enough but OP has to see what feels and performs the closest to them.

MattM97

Well feel is subjective and total compression numbers can result in balls that "feel" quite different (especially on partial shots) if the covers are quite different.

I have played enough golf now to realize I like the softer feeling golf balls. I have also taken a liking to TruFeels. Are there any other cheaper alternatives to the Chrome Soft I am missing out on?
