Preferably something debuted within the last three years please and thanks

I’ve been looking at the Exotics fairways for the same reason. Haven’t pulled the trigger yet.

uglande

By far the smallest I've seen is the Cobra F9 Tour. The new version -- SZ Tour -- is the same measured size and looks to be basically the same club with a new paint job, but I haven't seen it in person. I never bought one but I loved hitting the F9 Tour. It's a small 13.5 head with standard length shaft, so it hits low spin bullets.

lvmike

M5 fairway. Thought I liked smaller heads but this was too small. Went back to M3 before recently finding an M6 3wd.

DFinch

Cobra Speedzone Tour is 148cc and visually small compared to many current 3W designs.

Chadwickog

Exotics cbx or cbx 119. A few years older but the Staaf Fg Tour are pretty small and bomb. I’ve found the Taylormade m3 heads to be on the smaller side

lvmike

Hmm. I wouldn't have thought so but the facts are the facts. It was one of many things that didn't click for me with the M5 but the other faults for me may have contributed to me seeking other things that didn't work. Thanks for clarifying and sorry if I steered someone wrong.

Does wood matter on a golf club?

Wood or metal it doesn’t matter. It will help you hone in on making a centered strike on the tee ball on a more regular basis. Good driving is less about the club and more about how you deliver the club to the ball. Find a club that works for you and then work towards getting the most out of it.

PixlPutterman

So I am going to try and dedicate to play some wood this summer. Normally I take a likening to a smaller head driver (425tp,975, ect.) and currently own some mint Powerbilt Persimmons. I am a newbie when it comes to whats good with wood so I was looking for the larger or largest persimmon modern or retro.

PixlPutterman

LOL shows how much I know. I thought "Persimmon" was a genre. I knew they were not solid wood HAHA I saw that Louisville Golf Link. I am just not that apt to dropping that kinda cash right now

PixlPutterman

Other than its probably cheaper, what playing characteristics are different from laminate to solid?

PixlPutterman

I also think they have regular flex steel in them. How easier are the shafts to change or is it best to just live with what they have in them now?

PixlPutterman

I do like the idea of them, just dont have a couple hundred dollars to drop on this project.

PixlPutterman

Im sold.......on the fact that I need a driver no longer than 43 inches long. I think I am selling my "Current" stuff and gonna get a few nice "woods" and maybe an old 975 or 510 and shaft it with steel as well.

PixlPutterman

What balls are you guys using, I understand you need a pretty soft ball for persimmons, but how do you find a balance between that and your irons?
