Any golfer out there who is born left handed but playing right hand golf? Any particular difficulty that you need to over come and how did you overcome it? Please share your view.

TheDre

I'm a lefty and I golf right handed. I don't think it caused any more problems than anyone else that is new to golf. I think I actually learned faster than most. If you're just starting out, I would definately suggest watching the Shawn Clement instructional videos. They're free on his website. It's definately what helped me improve the most.

I'm a natural lefty and play golf right handed. The story goes that I received a righty three iron when I was 12 or 13. Since I swing a baseball bat lefty, I gripped a golf club the same way (cross handed for righty...).

FlopShotArtist

I'm left-handed and play golf right handed. It started when I started baseball when I was 6. I was a switch hitter, but saw the ball better RH and hit better RH so I switched to RH. When I took up golf, I couldn't golf lefty when I was used to swinging a bat right handed all the time. I do everything lefty except for golf and hitting in baseball.

bepo

i'm ridiculously ambidextrous, it's almost a split between my hands. righty: golf, tennis, writing. lefty: throwing, hockey, lacrosse. When I started golfing I actually practiced both ways, and eventually decided to be a righty because clubs are more available and easier to find, lol.

bleach

I was a switch hitter in baseball, left side for control and placement, right for power. The first time I played golf played with a friends clubs (righty of course), never looked back. I do everything left handed except golf. Not that I'm a good golfer, but I couldn't imagine playing golf left handed.
