I recently moved to the Scottsdale area and I am considering joining Gainey Ranch which is located ~3 miles from my house. I played the course (Ayollo/Lakes) two weekends ago and thought the course was in great shape.

Arizona is the only one that I know of that has a waiting list as well. Paradise Valley might but I'm not sure. I'm a member at Mesa country club. I'm not there very often since we live in LA but I prefer the golf course, drinking, gambling, and banter much better over there.
