Located in Pinckney, Whispering Pines is known for its gorgeous layout and Northern Michigan feel. The course can only be described as picturesque with its huge pine trees and beautiful fairways.
Hunters Ridge Golf Club
Hunters Ridge Golf Club is not only one of the most beautiful golf courses in Southeast Michigan, it is also one of the most challenging. The 160 acre, 18-hole course features well-placed bunkers, rough framing fairways, various ponds, and plenty of other challenges that are sure to improve the skill of any golfer.
Timber Trace Golf Club
The Timber Trace Golf Club offers golfers a scenic route along Lake Wallaby and its gorgeous surroundings. There are multiple sets of tee boxes to accommodate different skill levels, well-kept fairways, and uniquely designed greens with slopes that will test even the most skilled putter.
The Huntmore Golf Club
The 300 acre Huntmore Golf Club located in Brighton is one of the more diverse golf courses as it features gently rolling hills, hardwood forests, untempered wetlands, and plenty of lakes. The course was also voted as having the best greens in metro Detroit.
The Majestic at Lake Walden
The 27-hole Majestic at Lake Walden has everything a golfer wants to make for a perfect round of golf. Not only are the holes unique from one hole to the next, the course was designed as an individual golfing experience with no two holes in sight of each other.

1. Boulder Pointe Golf Club and Banquet Center: Boulder Pointe's 80-foot elevation changes and 15 lakes, located 10 miles north of the Palace of Auburn Hills, are ideal for golf. The vistas were much more sweeping and scenic right after the 27-hole routing opened in 2000 before all the housing sprouted up.
Detroit's Top 10 snubs
Two of my favorites to join this list -- Greystone Golf Club near Romeo and Fieldstone Golf Club in Auburn Hills -- were simply victims of the numbers crunching. Fieldstone, a solid Arthur Hills course, did not gather enough votes to make the Top 10, although it was rated high enough.
