i add two layers of build up tape half way up the grip, add another layer of build up the whole length, then one full wrap of double sided. I grip down on all my clubs naturally and hate taper. If its only your wedges, lamkin sells some 3gen wedge grips that have very little taper.

I have Lamkin Crossline Cords and put 2 wraps of tape under my left hand, and 4 wraps under my right. So two wraps on top, four on bottom. It removed the taper nicely, feels way more natural in my hands. I hit all of my clubs much, much more consistently, and they just feel more natural to swing.

Lamkin makes a wedge-specific grip that is a little longer and is build up in certain places. You might need to add some lead tape to the iron head to balance off the added grip weight on the butt end, but they feel good.

I use masking tape. I tape 10" of the shaft. 2 wraps of tape for the bottom 4 1/2", followed by one full length wrap. I then cover the whole length with two wraps of double sided tape. Does a good job of taking the taper out of my Lamkins. Ends up being 3 wraps at the top and 5 at the bottom.
