My inbox has been flooded over the past couple of years with people asking me why they shouldn't put a dryer sheet in with their golf shirts, so I thought I would address the task of how to care for a performance polyester golf shirt properly so that there is a thread out there that can be searched later. Here goes:

I hang and drip dry all my poly golf shirts. Never put them in the dryer! That is a sure way to make them stink forever. I've never turned mine inside out (might try that) but do wash with cottons all the time. Good tips, thanks for posting.

sheppy335

No dryer sheet or fabric softner and i do turn inside out and line dry.

What to do about shirts that do not have antimicrobial treatment? How do you get the stink out?

SwingMan

I forget to turn shirts inside out - thx for reminder. I wash cold/cold, lowest temp setting and for additional time. Take the poly-performance shirts out asap, turn out, and fold or hang.

KMeloney

Oh and I forgot to mention that I too and sick of the constant laundry questions flooding my inbox. That and questions about model rocketry, what is with these people?

DrMJG

I don't think it says that at all, and I think you're looking too hard to be offended (as mildly offended as you may be).

JonMA1

You’ve gotten a lot of verbal instruction. But, Tattersall says, “Words don’t translate as well to performance.” Pay more attention to images and feels. It will free up your mind. And your swing.

Vinsk

Then, I would have preferred if the author has noted the exception to his rule. And, as you know, my game has improved primarily through daily and focused practice. But, I would have like the next level acknowledged. Maybe he just does not get too man HCPed people seeking lessons.

DrMJG

No, that’s dumb. The explanation or exception would be longer than the reason. You’re trying too hard to be offended.

JonMA1
