I buy the Haggar Cool 18 and take then directly to the cleaners I use and have them cut to 8" inseam. I guess my putting stance maybe is not totally orthodox because most shorts hit me right on top of the knee when I am putting and I am constantly pulling them up above my knee if I don't have them hemmed to 8" inseam. There is a Haggar outlet near me and often times I can get their shorts for $12 per pair then paying to have them hemmed is not so bad..

I measured my favorite cheap Pro Tour shorts I got from Belk's two years ago and they measure 9- 9.5"... they are 100& poly, but are falling apart. I thought they were shorter than that. I have a couple pair of Adidas and Slazenger shorts that are way too long, but I love the fabric. Thanks for the suggestions!

I think it's pretty heavily dependent on height. I am about 6'2 and most golf shorts hit me at the knee or a little above. You may find some variance by brand so it might be good to shop around between brands. You also have to remember, golf or clothes companies in general they design for the majority.

OP: you've got to determine what inseam you are comfortable with and shop from there. You'll find it becomes much easier to find a length that works as all you'll have to do is shop by inseam. Problem solved.
