Heading on the annual golf trip with a bunch of guys and we like to have some inter-group betting. Typically, when we have full foursomes, we'll do a two low net balls game between groups, but there's a bit of an issue this year with only 14 guys (2 foursomes, 2 threesomes).

Have a threesome going off tomorrow, and I want to find a game to play for us. Nothing so complicated like Wolf, but something fun.

We alwas played defender. A B C You go in that order the whole way, each having six holes you tee off first on. The 'defender' has to tie his hole or win it outright against the other two guys. 3 pts for a win if you defend the hole and the other guys get -1. If you lose the hole the other guys get 1 pt each and you get -3.

Petethreeput

We play a 9 point game. 5 pts if you win the hole, 3, and 1 if you lose the hole. Play off the low handicap. If there is a tie then you win either 4 or 2 depending on what you have tied. Very simple.

HackerD

Good points game for 3 players: winner of each hole gets 4 pts, second place gets 2 pts, last gets 0. If two tie for first each gets 3; if two tie for second each gets 1. Highest total points wins. Not complicated at all but also not wildly exciting. Wolf or skins is more fun.

FATC1TY

Hell, a stableford is pretty fun with 3 guys.. Play off the handicaps and battle it out.

masyankees

I've played the game with 5 points for the lowest score on the hole, 3 for middle score and 1 for worst score. Total at the end, high score wins. For ties on a hole, add the points the players would have gotten and divide by 2, so a 2-way tie for first gives each player 4 pts, etc.

ruascott

Gross or net skins....depending upon the skill levels. easiest and can be fun with carryovers.
