I've been trying to play a certain course an hour away from me that runs $60 rack rate during off-season, which is now. I go by it a couple of times per week and check the golfnow ap to see if I can snag a deal. Only talking about midweek times in the afternoon. They only have 1 hotdeal time and it's at 2:30pm each day.

The # of player selections is all over the place for me. Some times it'll say 1 or 2, and I attempt to book 1 and it just errors out. Some times I'll see 1-4 players, and I'll attempt to book for 1 and it'll say Hot Deal no longer available. I'll refresh and it changes to 2-4 players. I get it. You don't want me to play as a single.

The Hot Deals are nowhere near as good as they were last year in my opinion. Almighty $......

I've noticed that there are 3 times to get a hot deal cheaper. 1. When it is first posted. 2. When part of the tee time has been purchased 3. 1-2 days before the tee time. If you don't get it early, your best bet is to wait as close to the date as possible. By far the best deals are the "1 only" or "1-2 players" tee times.

I've also seen good deals on days where bad weather was forecasted, but I don't know if they are really tracking the weather or if the bad weather keeps people from buying tee times (particulary prepaid teetimes). There may be some part of their algorithm that drops the prices based on how much unsold tee time inventory they have for a given day.
