Has anyone had issues with this? About 6 months ago, on a rainy day, when I got in my truck after work I noticed the right rear corner of the headliner soaked and water dripping onto the back seat.

Someone else just posted about this problem in the last few days. You might search and see if you can find it. I'll see what I can find

jrrod2004

That is usually the third brake light that is the culprit (seal between the lens and the cab). The other is the rear window may have a very small gap (Usually microscopic) on the seal to cab....

jrrod2004

oh yea, did they replace the entire headliner? (you didnt mention that in your post)

Wingnut

I wouldn't worry about them pulling/replacing the headliner. I've pulled several, and pulled Fred's out twice (putting overhead consoles in).

When the dealer replaced the brake light on the cab, a headliner was ordered but it took about 2 months to come in. I got the postcard in the mail that it was in, but never took the truck back for it. They were supposed to give me a rental, but to me it wasn't worth the hassle.

Yeah all the time needs a third brake light almost every time. Hope this helps GM tech Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Is the gasket available by itself or does one have to buy the whole light assembly?

tlaw91

Your local GM dealer has plenty of experience dealing with this issue. I'd see them and get an estimate to have this problem resolved and remediated. The cost will obviously be more than DIY but it will get fixed properly. If the leak persists after a dealer repair, it will be their problem to repair.

There’s a bulletin for that? They didn’t do it correctly. You can remove the two T20 torx screws and pop the lens out. It will be obvious if it’s leaking. -GM Tech Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
