Judge440

He does GC coverage Thurs/Fri and early coverage Sat/Sun and then jump on CBS. I assume as long as he fulfills his CBS commitment then it's all good.

Frankensteins Monster

Golf Channel contract before being bought out by NBC. I'm sure he wont be on GC once his contract is up.

KillerPenguin

Would have to read his contract to know for sure, but if he's already doing it, I concur with Judge440. CBS attorneys would have been all over him had he violated the terms of his contract, especially with one of their major competitors.

brtnsbs

Nothing new, Faldo does a ton of coverage on Golf Channel Thurs/Fri but usually only on weeks that CBS has the weekend coverage too. Odd that since NBC has the weekend coverage that he was available to cover this event.

OnFire

I know he's got a contract and all with TGC and CBS, but wouldn't you think there'd be a clause in there that would let him play Augusta. Stupid that he doesn't play if you ask me, especially with older guys like Watson and Couples still competing.

SNIPERBBB

As a Masters champ he can play the Masters for life, but he doesn't play competitive golf anymore, least no tournaments that I've heard of, and would be lucky to get a sniff of the cut at Augusta.

OnFire

Lucky to get a "sniff of the cut"? lol, dude won there only three times. That's two more than Couples if memory serves. Maybe he's just lazy and has like a hundred million in his bank account?

ferrispgm

pretty sure he doesn't play because really his game totally left him. I like faldo a lot but he does have quite a big ego and i'm sure going from #1 in the world to not being able to ever make a cut would hurt especially at the age he was when he quit.

rafal

Maybe he doesnt want to finish at +19 like Woosnam and +14 like C.Stadler? I mean, it does look kind of crappy.

ferrispgm

totally agree with the above 2 posts....honestly, even though i loved seeing player and nicklaus and palmer play in years past, its pretty embarassing when they dont even show their scores because of how high they are. I'm sure faldo doesn't want to post a double digit over par round either, i honestly can't blame him/

OneBowTie

He doesn't play because he chooses not to play. I'd say that many have got it right that perhaps him being formally such a great player- that he doesn't want to play competitive golf in less then a level he see as his standard. I respect the man for playing or not playing.....
