I would like to see numbers on golf ball advertising budgets for Titleist, Taylor Made, Callaway. Srixon, and Bridgestone. My guess is Titleist outspends the other four combined.

When I first started, I used the cheapest balls I could find (usually in onion sacks). Once I got a little better, I played Noodle's for about a year or so. After I got into the 90's, I started using $20 balls (Nike PD Soft, Callawat Hex Diablo, Srixon Soft Feel). Now I'm ready to get into the 80's and looking for a better ball.

The ProV1 and ProV1x are the only Titleist balls with a urethane cover so they are probably going to be the softest feeling ball and they are going to spin the most. The NXT Tour is a 3 piece ball with an ionomer cover that is suppose to perform close to the ProV series but not as good.

You're welcome. It's actually an interesting read. When I got back into the game a few years ago I would only play the NXT Tour...I finally advanced on to urethane and now it's all I'll play in various flavors.
