If it's literally a sharpie or something, y ou can usually take rubbing alcohol, and use that to dilute the marker and wipe it off. May take a few times, but I typically can get it off with that. Shouldn't cause any problems, it's just the same as cleaning the disc itself, but the sharpie "permanent" markers seem to be alcohol soluble.
