I had always addressed the ball with the butt of my driver shaft pointed towards my left side but my pro told me during a lesson today that this is a source of many amateurs inconsistency because it is the only club that is addressed this way and hence the take away can have a lot of variation (too far inside on takeaway, or perfect or outside - just not consistent)..
