I have repaired many hickory shafted clubs with persimmon heads that have split in the course of my hickory hire business since 1997. My clubs come in for some serious abuse! I drill a 1/8 hole from the face to just past the crack.

Stixman hit it dead on. I had a friend of mine back in the day who was a master club builder and repairman. He repaired a beloved Power Built persimmon for me several times with dowels clamps and glue. He was so good at it that it did not alter the swing weight any at all.

Yea, great story BigStu I've known some great repair guys over the years who worked on Persimmon and laminate drivers. And at one time nobody batted an eye when one was getting a set rechromed, stuff like that was not a big deal like it is today. I expect they have all gone on.

Been repairing Persimmon for over 30 years. Repaired many many cracked heads. I would take the club completely apart. Remove the shaft ,soleplate and the insert. That way you can see how serious the crack is. I have always used Conap.
